On January 28th, Bojangles’ Restaurants, Inc. announced Jose Armario as our new CEO. He’s got over 30 years of experience in the business, and is kinda a big deal. So we were pleasantly surprised when he agreed to sit down with The Spork Report over a Cajun Filet Biscuit to answer your questions.
The Spork Report: What is your favorite Bojangles’ menu item?
José Armario: You can’t go wrong with anything on Bojangles’ menu, but for me, it’s absolutely the Cajun Filet Biscuit. No one else has anything like it, and it’s just as good for breakfast as it is for lunch and dinner. And I’ll take it with some Bo-Rounds, Dirty Rice and Cajun Pintos!
SR: Tell us about the first time you had Bojangles’.
JA: I was in Raleigh for an ACC football game so naturally, we tailgated with a Big Bo Box ®.
SR: Can you pleaseeee open a Bojangles’ in my city?
JA: We are in a wonderful position to have so many Bojangles’ fans throughout the nation and even outside the United States. Our plans are to carefully put together a growth strategy to help us serve all customers who want the best chicken, biscuits and tea.
SR: Are you going to mess with the recipe?
JA: I don’t want Bojangles’ fans to lose any sleep. We’ll always be committed to serving the very best chicken, buttermilk biscuits and tea around, and you’ll always be able to get our industry-leading breakfast all day, every day.
SR: Bojangles’ is the ultimate tailgating food. Do you have a favorite sport, or are you just showing up at the tailgate for the chicken?
JA: I love all college sports, especially football, basketball and baseball…I am a proud graduate of the University of Miami – go Hurricanes!
SR: What’s the last book you read?
JA: Fried Chicken: An American Story by John T. Edge…I’m not kidding!
