It’s no secret that financially, 2022 was a rough year for all of us – and the holiday season can be hard on your pocketbook.

That’s why this year, we decided to spread holiday cheer to some of the most important members of our communities – teachers – by donating $500 gift cards to 11 teachers throughout our footprint.

Each teacher was handpicked by leaders in their communities for their commitment to their schools, passion for learning and continuous impact on the students they serve. The list of winners includes:

Alabama: Alexandria Clark, Priceville Elementary School (Decatur)

Georgia: Jeffrey Rowser, Morgan County High School (Madison); Jaime Price, M. Agnes Jones Elementary School (Atlanta)

Florida: Brenda Mullin, West Port High School (Ocala)

North Carolina: Matthew Robinson, Sanford Creek Elementary School (Rolesville); Sondra Mackie, Scurlock Elementary School (Raeford), Alicia Biel, Rama Road Elementary School (Charlotte)

South Carolina: David Evette, Landrum High School (Campobello); Tamisha Hines, Myrtle Beach Primary School (Myrtle Beach); Kim Thomas, Myrtle Beach Primary School (Myrtle Beach)

Tennessee: Kami Lunsford, Karns Middle School (Knoxville)

Every teacher was surprised in their classroom surrounded by their students, complete with balloons, a big check, flowers and of course, lots of chicken and biscuits.

These beloved educators do so much for our children and our communities, and we’re committed to help “pay it forward” whenever we can. These gift cards spread some holiday cheer to their classrooms – and allowed them to put a Bo (get it?) on their holiday plans!
