Bojangles Donates $40,000 to Bud Foster’s Lunch Pail Defense Foundation Following Successful VT Big Bo Box Campaign

Bojangles is wrapping up football season on a high note, celebrating the success of its limited-edition Virginia Tech Lunch Pail Big Bo Box with a $40,000 donation to Bud Foster’s Lunch Pail Defense Foundation.

During Saturday’s Virginia Tech vs. University of Miami football game, Bojangles’ CEO Jose Armario and Jason Gilbert, Vice President of Operations for Randolph Restaurant Group, joined legendary former defensive coordinator Bud Foster on the field to present the check, marking the culmination of the campaign that united Hokie Nation around a shared tradition of hard work, community and giving back.

Launched earlier this season, the custom Big Bo Box paid homage to one of Virginia Tech football’s most iconic symbols – the “Lunch Pail” – while serving up Bojangles’ famous Southern staples, from chicken and biscuits to Legendary Iced Tea. A portion of proceeds from each box sold will support the Foundation’s mission to provide scholarships to Virginia-area students.

“The Lunch Pail tradition is about grit, teamwork and doing the hard work that matters,” said Gilbert. “We’re honored that our partnership with Bud and his Foundation helps open doors for students and strengthens the communities that have supported Bojangles for decades.”

“Bojangles’ support has been nothing short of amazing,” added Bud Foster. “This donation will directly help students achieve their goals and keep the Lunch Pail legacy alive for generations to come.”
