Bojangles is celebrating the iconic holiday mashup with its “Official Biscuit of Moms” all month long, including free biscuits for moms
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 10, 2023) – This year, both National Buttermilk Biscuit Day
and Mother’s Day fall on May 14. To celebrate, Bojangles has dubbed its signature
made-from-scratch, buttermilk biscuit the “Official Biscuit of Moms.” To thank moms
across the brand’s footprint and celebrate this new title, Bojangles has launched a
month-long campaign highlighting the love that goes into a Bojangles biscuit and
honoring the certified biscuit maker moms who bake them.
Lawanda Wynn is a four-year veteran Certified Biscuit Maker at the chain’s Madison,
Georgia location – but more importantly, she’s a devoted mother to three girls.
Bojangles spent an afternoon following Lawanda, telling the behind-the-scenes story of
how she juggles being a Certified Biscuit Maker and the matriarch of the Wynn family
and showcasing her biscuit-making superpowers. At the end of the day, Bojangles
surprised Lawanda with flowers, a luxurious trip to the spa and a bed and breakfast
staycation to show its appreciation for all she does for her customers and family. Check
out Lawanda’s story here.
Lawanda isn’t the only mom getting a treat from Bojangles this Mother’s Day! The chain
is bringing back its beloved Heart-Shaped Bo-Berry Biscuits from now through May 14
and giving customers the chance to celebrate their moms with two free Heart-Shaped
Bo-Berry Biscuits through the app at participating locations, using code “MothersDay”
from May 12 to 14.
“Since Bojangles was founded 46 years ago, we’ve put painstaking effort into perfecting
our 49-step process to craft the perfect buttermilk biscuit,” said Marshall Scarborough,
VP of menu and culinary innovation at Bojangles. “Each of our Certified Biscuit Makers
go through a rigorous training and certification process just to be able to make biscuits
in our restaurants. Every biscuit is made with love – just like how Mom makes them – so
celebrate your mom with what she really wants: biscuits from Bo.”
Bojangles’ flaky, buttery biscuits make the perfect pairing as fixins or as a vessel for one of the brand’s popular proteins, like the Cajun Filet, Bacon Egg and Cheese, Country Ham or Steak. For even more flavorful goodness, try topping with Bo’s country style sausage gravy or creamy pimento cheese.
